INDEPENDENT ARTIST RATES
Photography and video for musicians, bands, solo artists and small creative projects.
I've had artists hesitate to get in touch because they assume I'm going to be too expensive.
I get it. I've been doing this for a long time. But not every project needs to be a giant production, and not every artist has a record label or a marketing department paying the bill.
I've been there. I've paid for this stuff myself. I know what happens when a good idea turns into cameras, locations, crew, editing and a bill that suddenly looks ridiculous.
So I've set aside rates specifically for independent artists.
PHOTOGRAPHY
$125 / hour
Portraits, band photos, press shots, album artwork, promo, live sessions, behind the scenes, location shoots and whatever else we come up with.
2-hour minimum: $250
HEADSHOTS
$125 / hour
For musicians, actors, performers, creatives and anyone who needs a good photograph of themselves that doesn't look like everybody else's.
Studio-style, environmental, editorial, natural or something completely different.
2-hour minimum: $250
VIDEO
$150 / hour
Performance footage, acoustic sessions, interviews, artist profiles, behind the scenes, social content and documentary-style work.
2-hour minimum: $300
PHOTO + VIDEO
$150 / hour
Shoot both during the same session and make the time work harder.
2-hour minimum: $300
POST-PRODUCTION
PHOTO EDITING
$75 / hour
Selection, colour correction, exposure, cropping, basic retouching and final delivery.
VIDEO EDITING
$100 / hour
Editing, colour, audio cleanup, titles, exports and final delivery.
More involved editing projects are quoted separately once I know what we're making.
HALF DAY
$500 / 4 hours
For projects that need more time, multiple setups, locations, wardrobe changes, interviews, performance footage or several pieces of content in one session.
FULL DAY
$900 / 8 hours
For larger projects that need more time, more locations or a substantial amount of material.
WHY THESE RATES?
These are independent artist rates, not my general commercial rates.
I like working with people who are building something themselves. No label. No giant marketing department. No pile of money behind the project.
And I don't believe in making you pay for a bunch of stuff you don't need.
Sometimes two hours, one musician and a good location is enough to make something really good.
A FEW THINGS
Travel, specialized equipment, studio or location rental and other production expenses are additional when required.
If you have an idea but don't know exactly what you need, that's fine.
Tell me what you're trying to make. We'll figure it out.
