Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of photography and video do you do?

I work across photography, video and digital content, with a focus on musicians, artists, live performance, portraits, promotional material and creative projects. Every project is approached individually, with an emphasis on personality, atmosphere and telling a story rather than simply producing content.

Who do you work with?

I work with independent musicians, artists, bands, publicists, venues, magazines, creative agencies and small businesses. I'm equally comfortable working on a small personal project or contributing to a larger production.

Where are you based, and do you travel?

I'm based in Vancouver, British Columbia, and available for assignments locally and elsewhere by arrangement. Travel expenses and any associated costs are quoted separately.

What are your rates?

I offer accessible hourly rates for independent artists and small productions. Photography starts at $125 per hour, with a two-hour minimum, and video starts at $150 per hour. Larger commercial projects are quoted individually based on their scope, requirements and usage.

Why are your rates different for independent artists and commercial clients?

Independent artists and small productions often work with limited budgets. My published rates are designed to make professional creative services more accessible. Commercial assignments can involve different production requirements, budgets, licensing and usage rights, so these projects are quoted separately.

Is there a minimum booking?

Yes. Photography bookings have a two-hour minimum. Video projects are priced according to the work involved, and minimums or production requirements will be discussed before booking.

Are studio rental and other production costs included?

No. Studio rental, location fees, equipment rentals, travel, props, talent and other third-party expenses are additional where required. Any anticipated costs will be discussed and agreed upon before the project begins.

What if I don't know exactly what I need?

That's fine. Tell me what you're trying to accomplish, what you have in mind and what your budget looks like. We can work out an approach that makes sense for the project without overcomplicating it.

How long will it take to receive my photos or videos?

Turnaround depends on the scope of the project, the number of deliverables and the amount of editing required. I'll provide an estimated delivery schedule before work begins. Rush delivery may be available by arrangement.

Do you provide edited photos and finished videos?

Yes. Deliverables are agreed upon before the project begins. Photography includes the agreed selection of edited images, while video includes the specified finished edits and formats. Additional edits, versions or deliverables may incur extra charges.

Can I request changes to my photos or video?

Reasonable adjustments within the agreed scope can be discussed. Significant changes to the original brief, additional editing rounds or new deliverables may involve additional fees. The aim is to establish expectations clearly from the start.

Can you create content specifically for social media?

Yes. I can produce photography and video for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, websites and other digital platforms. Deliverables can be planned around the intended platform, aspect ratio, format and purpose.

Do you offer social media management?

I offer social media content support, including planning, preparing and publishing content by arrangement. The scope can range from occasional assistance with individual releases to an ongoing arrangement. Posting frequency, platforms and responsibilities are agreed upon in advance.

Do you work with artists on music releases?

Yes. I can help develop visual content around a single, album, live performance or wider release campaign. Depending on the project, this can include promotional photography, music-related video, short-form social content, behind-the-scenes material and release teasers.

Who owns the photos and videos after delivery?

Unless otherwise agreed upon in writing, the photographer retains copyright and ownership of all photographs and video content. Clients receive permission to use the delivered material for the purposes agreed upon at booking. Additional usage, commercial licensing or transfer of copyright can be discussed separately.

How do I book a project?

Get in touch with a brief description of the project, your intended use, your preferred dates and your approximate budget. If you have visual references or examples of what you're looking for, feel free to include them. I'll follow up to discuss the requirements and provide a quote where needed.

What if my project is small or unusual?

Get in touch anyway. Not every worthwhile project fits a standard package, and not every good idea arrives with a production budget. If there's a creative approach that makes sense, I'm happy to discuss it.
