Or sick of the kids sitting on the sidewalk reading a book with a cardboard sign that says, "need $ for pot and beer"...? I lived in the Bronx of New York for 3 years and never once did I deal with that shit.

Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 3:45PM Weird thing happened today ... was at a motorcycle shop looking for impact safe goggles (hard to find) and it turned out the lady working there is also working on doing war photography. As I'm talking to her the owner of a studio I used to rent on occasion for celeb shoots came in. I haven't seen him in 4 years. It was just this weird convergence of what seems like an old life and the beginnings of the new one

It's a strange situation
Saturday, May 19, 2012 at 10:01AM It's a strange situation to find myself in... getting ready to go into the war zones in the fall. Strange because I'm seeing how much it's scaring the shit out of friends and family and that's the hardest part. They're being so brave though, not standing in the way, keeping quiet when I can tell they want to speak out. It must be like watching someone they love getting ready to jump to their death and every time they see me getting a little more prepared the more I can see the panic setting in. It's a strange situation to put someone in and the guilt is immense, but they know I have to do this. They're being so brave.
