"To live is the rarest thing in this world...most people exist, that is all." - Oscar Wilde

Mitchell Parsons grew up in far Northern British Columbia, Canada. As a young boy he spent much of his time learning to live off the land and survive in the wild. He had dog sled teams, played hockey, rode bulls in rodeos and racehorses until he grew too big. He spent many summers exploring the countryside by motorcycle, has been a drummer for various bands, an actor and still sings/plays guitar and performs from time to time.

While living in Vancouver, Canada he became a photographer as an extra skill to add to his graphic design work and found that it was photography that fit him best. Mitchell has photographed actors and musicians in both Vancouver and Montreal for 12 years for personal work and print publications, but it was his interest in photojournalism that led him to document the rise of the Occupy Wall Street movement while living in New York. He is currently making plans to continue with his interest in photojournalism and conflict photography beginning with a two week trip to Egypt for Egyptologist, Antoine Gigal. From there he plans to seek out and document conflicts between protesters and police and military forces throughout the Middle East region.
